I was bought by a man named Jefferson in 1803, because Mssr. Napoleon decided dat a New World empire was too much damn trouble for him to take on. 'Riginally, I was part o' a huge piece o' land, but I got cut down to size in time. Happy and content down in de South wit' my closest family - don' really see much of Daddy down here, no.

I'm dat place everybody goes when dey need anythin' - I got entertainment, food that would make de devil praise de Lord, history, original music from bayou blues to jazz, and Mardi Gras. What more do you need, cher?

I've fallen on some rough times in de past, ouis, but does dat stop me? I don' think so, darlin'. I got de Big Easy, Queen o' de South, good ol' Nawlins, and I ain't never gonna let some storm get me down.
